GÁVEA
Find out more about Mengão's headquarters.

History
The Gávea site is the main headquarters of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, where most of the club's athletes train. On 14 November 1931, under municipal decree 3.686, Flamengo was granted transfer and leasehold rights over the Lagoa plot. There the club built its first football ground, fenced with wood.
On 28 December 1933, the then president José Bastos Padilha paid the fee of 497 contos de réis and Flamengo was able to begin building the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, which held 6,000 spectators at the time.
