In the NBB (Brazilian basketball league), Flamengo loses to União Corinthians, tying the Round of 16 series 1-1.

FlaBasquete was defeated by União Corinthians on Saturday night in Santa Cruz do Sul, tying the Round of 16 series at 1-1. The home team won 84-83. The teams will face each other again on Monday at the same venue at 8 pm. 

It was a closely contested game, unlike the first match of the series, which Flamengo won by 30 points at Maracanãzinho. In the first quarter, Flamengo led 30-17. União Corinthians improved in the second quarter and reduced the Flamengo deficit. They won 24-18 and went into halftime trailing by only 48-41.

In the third quarter, União Corinthians had their big moment, winning 24-16. In the final quarter, Cárdenas made the difference. With three seconds left, he converted the basket that put União Corinthians ahead. With only three seconds remaining, FlaBasquete couldn't turn the game around. 

União Corinthians' victory forces a fourth game in the series to be played in Rio de Janeiro. This game is scheduled for the 30th, at Maracanãzinho. 

Hollowell, from União Corinthians, was the game's top scorer with 22 points. For Flamengo, Kayo was the top scorer with 18 points. In Flamengo's rebounds, Wesley stood out, grabbing seven. For União Corinthians, Cárdenas, the hero of the game, grabbed nine rebounds.

At Flamengo, Baralle was the assist king with nine. At União Corinthians, Hollowell stood out in that category with eight.
