Flamengo to field 40 athletes across seven sports at South American Games

Flamengo will represent Brazil across seven disciplines at the 2026 South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina, dispatching 40 athletes to the multi-sport event running September 12-26.
The Rio club's delegation features competitors in judo, artistic gymnastics, swimming, artistic swimming, water polo, rowing and coastal rowing. Athletes spanning multiple generations will compete across pools, tatami mats, apparatus and Argentine waterways, reinforcing Flamengo's role in Brazilian Olympic sport and providing international competitive experience.
Rowing comprises the largest contingent with 14 athletes: Ana Júlia Ferreira, Beatriz Tavares, Chloé Gorski, Isabelle Falck, Jennifer Silva, Lorrayne Lane, Lara Pizarro, Mariana Macedo, Bernardo Boggian, Breno Ornellas, Erick Oliveira, Evaldo Becker, Matheus Freitas and Piedro Tuchtenhagen. Five additional rowers will compete in coastal rowing: Ana Caroline Freire, Kissya Cataldo, David Souza, Vangelys Reinke and Yan Costa.
Flamengo's swimming programme features Joice Otero and Stephan Steverink, both coming off podium finishes at the José Finkel Trophy in São Paulo. Artistic swimming will be represented by Ana Beatriz Nunes, Ana Clara Santos de Almeida, Bernardo da Silva Santos, Bernardo da Silva Barreto and Hannah Rothstein Sukman.
Water polo will field 11 athletes split between men's and women's teams. The women's squad includes Ana Carolina Neves Vasconcelos, Jeniffer Kathlen Pereira Cavalcante, Kemily Ferreira Leão, Letícia Gomes dos Santos Belorio, Rebecca Helena da Silva Moreira, Samantha Rezende Ferreira and Yandra Rodrigues Ramos. Men's representatives are Alexandre da Cruz Ricardo de Souza Mendes, Alípio Nardaci Junior, Frederico Jucá Carsalade and Logan Wolverine de Oliveira Cabral.
Artistic gymnastics will feature Gabriela Bouças and Júlia Coutinho competing for Brazil in events scheduled September 13-16, continuing their international campaign with the national team.
In judo, Marcelo Gomes will compete in the men's 90kg category after capturing the national selection title in July. With representation across seven disciplines, Flamengo will back its athletes through another chapter of competition on the continental stage.
