Flamengo will have four representatives at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships! The Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) announced the national team selection for the competition on Wednesday (7th), which will take place October 17-25 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira and Gabriela Bouças are among six athletes named to the women's squad, reinforcing Flamengo's leading role in Brazilian artistic gymnastics.
Brazil's most-decorated Olympic champion with six medals, Rebeca Andrade returns to the World Championships after missing the 2025 edition. The Flamengo gymnast has nine World Championship medals to her name and arrives at the competition after resuming international competition this season. In Rotterdam, Rebeca will compete in vault—an apparatus where she has already won two world titles—and balance beam.
Flávia Saraiva arrives in excellent form following strong 2026 results. The Flamengo athlete earned eight individual medals this season, highlighted by her performance at the World Cup stage in Szombathely, Hungary, where she claimed two gold medals in uneven bars and balance beam, plus silver on floor. Lorrane Oliveira, an Olympic team medallist from Paris 2024, also finished on the podium at the Hungarian competition, taking bronze on floor exercise. Gabriela Bouças earns her maiden World Championship senior call-up.
Beyond medal pursuit, the Rotterdam World Championships hold special significance in the path toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The competition will be the first opportunity for team-based Olympic qualification, with spots guaranteed for nations earning medals in the team event. Brazil's preparations have also included contributions from Flamengo's Júlia Coutinho, who trained alongside the named athletes. With four representatives on the women's team, Flamengo reasserts its strength in Brazilian artistic gymnastics and continues driving the sport's development nationally.
