Flamengo's Manto da Nação Wins Guinness World Record™ with Over 100,000 Votes

Manto da Nação, Flamengo's groundbreaking initiative inviting supporters worldwide to design and vote for a new club jersey, has officially entered the record books. With more than 100,000 votes cast, the project has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest sports shirt design competition by number of public votes in the world.

The 100,000-vote threshold had been set as the target for the project to secure the record. By surpassing this milestone, Manto da Nação cemented the participation of the global Flamengo Nation in an initiative that received over 8,000 design submissions and votes from supporters across more than 120 countries.

On Thursday afternoon (3rd), at Gávea, Flamengo's home, club icon Zico accepted the official Guinness World Record plaque from a Guinness representative, marking worldwide recognition of the project's significance.

The record comes just days after the launch of Urubu de Lima, the winning jersey selected by supporters from the Manto da Nação competition. Drawing inspiration from Peru's Nazca geoglyphs, the design creates a symbolic link between Lima and two historic chapters in Flamengo's history: the Copa Libertadores triumphs of 2019 and 2025.

Fan enthusiasm is reflected in sales figures. Urubu de Lima, available in two versions, has already surpassed 50,000 units sold in just days, with orders coming from supporters throughout Brazil, and remaining stock is limited.
