Flamengo have secured the first trophy of the 2026/2027 season! The Rubro-Negro defeated Brasília 78-73 on Saturday night (10th) at Ginásio Dona Salomé in Belo Horizonte, clinching a second consecutive NBB Opening Tournament title. In a tightly contested final from start to finish, the team led by head coach Demétrius Ferracciú demonstrated composure in decisive moments and confirmed their triumph with an unbeaten record throughout the competition. Ruan Miranda was among the standout performers, posting a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
First quarter
The final opened with intensity and a balanced contest between the sides. With defenses applying pressure and limited free-throw opportunities, Flamengo had to work possessions methodically to find space. The Rubro-Negro proved more efficient on offense and built a narrow lead over the opening ten minutes, finishing the period with a 19-15 advantage.
Second quarter
Equilibrium persisted into the second period, characterized by fierce competition for the boards. Brasília increased their offensive output and narrowed the scoreline. Despite their opponent's response, the Mengão maintained the lead and headed into halftime with a 37-34 scoreline, after a 19-18 scoring run by the Distrito Federal side.
Third quarter
Following the break, Flamengo opened up an eight-point advantage, driven by solid performances from Didi Louzada and Yago. Brasília mounted a response through Fernández and Zu Jr., keeping themselves in contention for the title. The visitors won the quarter 20-19, trimming the gap to just two points. The Rubro-Negro entered the final frame ahead 56-54.
Fourth quarter
The final ten minutes delivered genuine drama. With Miranda dominant in the paint and contributing on both ends of the floor, Flamengo withstood Brasília's advances. The contest remained wide open until the closing moments, when Yago landed a crucial three-pointer to seal the Rubro-Negro triumph. With a 22-19 quarter score, the Mengão closed out the match 78-73 and secured another trophy for their cabinet!

Ruan Miranda was the standout performer, recording a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Didi Louzada made a strong contribution with 13 points, while Manel added another 11. Montero impressed on the boards with ten rebounds and also distributed four assists.
With four wins from four games, Flamengo conclude the Opening Tournament with a perfect record and their second consecutive title in the competition.
