Flamengo defeated Biguá 92–77 on Tuesday night in Montevideo, capping an undefeated run through its friendly tour of Uruguay. Following a win over Peñarol on Monday, the Rubro-Negro secured a second consecutive victory and wrapped up its trip with a perfect 2–0 record.
Point guard Yago Mateus was the standout performer, finishing with 27 points and nine assists. Manel added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring Flamengo's control throughout the contest.
Flamengo now returns to Rio de Janeiro to continue preparations for the NBB season opener, scheduled for October 6 in Minas Gerais.
1st Quarter
Flamengo started with strong pacing. Manel opened the scoring with the first two points, followed by Didi connecting on a two-pointer and a three-pointer. Yago also found the range from beyond the arc, and the Rubro-Negro jumped to an 11–6 lead in the opening minutes.
Baralho then drilled a three-pointer to extend the lead to 15–6, forcing Biguá's coach to call a timeout. Late in the quarter, however, the Uruguayan squad mounted a comeback and narrowed the gap. Flamengo led 17–16 at the end of the first.
2nd Quarter
Flamengo responded well in the second period and re-established control after Biguá's late-quarter push. Five minutes into the quarter, the Rubro-Negro had opened a 10-point cushion at 31–21, prompting another timeout from the opposing bench.
As the quarter progressed, both teams traded baskets, but Flamengo managed its lead effectively and entered halftime with a 41–34 advantage, a solid position heading into the second half.
3rd Quarter
Biguá returned from intermission intent on closing the gap and managed to keep it tight at moments. The home team cut it to just two points at 56–54, but the Rubro-Negro answered with poise. Negrete nailed a crucial three-pointer that restored a five-point edge at 59–54.
Despite Biguá's continued pressure, Flamengo executed with intelligence and contained the hosts' momentum. In the final seconds of the quarter, Yago converted two free throws to restore an eight-point cushion, sending Flamengo into the fourth with a 64–56 lead.
4th Quarter
Flamengo came out of the break and quickly extended its advantage. With eight minutes remaining, the Rubro-Negro had opened a 15-point lead at 71–56 and took control down the stretch.
Both teams connected on three-pointers in the closing minutes. Yago made several difficult shots from distance, while Biguá also answered from beyond the arc. Nevertheless, Flamengo managed its cushion expertly and remained in command until the final buzzer.
After leading from start to finish, the Rubro-Negro secured the 92–77 victory and completed its Uruguay tour with an undefeated record.
