Flamengo Demolish Volta Redonda to Extend Perfect Record in Guanabara Cup U-20

Flamengo thrashed Volta Redonda 6-2 on Saturday (12) at the Ninho do Urubu (George Helal Academy) in the sixth round of the 2026 Taça Guanabara U-20, maintaining their 100% winning record at the top of the standings.
Jhefinho Vinicius scored twice, as did Juliano, while Douglas Teles and an own goal sealed the comfortable victory for the academy outfit, who now sit on 18 points from six matches. The Rubro-Negro side has netted 20 goals while conceding just five.
Juliano, who recently arrived from Red Bull Bragantino, made his debut for Flamengo in the second half and found the net twice, capping an impressive display from the academy's forward line.

Flamengo broke the deadlock in the ninth minute through Jhefinho, set up by Daniel Sales. Volta Redonda equalized on the 18th minute via Rhauan, but Bruno Nobre's own goal on 39 minutes restored Flamengo's lead at 2-1.
After the restart, Levi leveled matters almost immediately on the 51st minute. Jhefinho's response came swiftly on the 56th minute with his second of the day, making it 3-2. Juliano then extended the advantage on 85 minutes, and added his second just a minute later to make it 5-2. Douglas Teles completed the demolition on 95 minutes following a pass from Andrew Nathan: 6-2 final.
