Plata Returns to Training and Reintegrates With Squad

Gonzalo Plata is back at Flamengo. The Ecuadorian forward touched down in Belém in the early hours of Monday, 7 September, and rejoined the club before taking part in morning training with the rest of the red-and-black squad. Now reintegrated into the group, Plata represents a significant reinforcement for the crucial challenges ahead.

Shortly after landing in Pará's capital, Plata linked up with the delegation that remained in the city following Flamengo's 1-0 victory over Remo in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Within hours, he was out on the pitch for the session run by the coaching staff. His return adds further depth to Flamengo's options during a critical stretch of fixtures.

Plata's next assignment will prove particularly special. Still on Monday, he travels with the delegation to Quito, Ecuador—his homeland—where Flamengo will continue preparations ahead of facing Independiente del Valle in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.
