Flamengo reclaimed the top of the podium on Sunday (18 October) at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro, capturing the 2026 Brazilian Interclubes Long Boats Championship and extending its dominance in the discipline. With another commanding campaign, the Rubro-Negro secured both the men's and women's senior titles, cementing a remarkable week of results in the sport that founded the club.
Held from 14–18 October, the championship drew clubs from across Brazil, featuring competition in the under-19, under-23, senior, and para-rowing categories. Finals began on Friday (16) with under-19 races, continued on Saturday (17) with under-23 athletes, and concluded on Sunday (18) with the senior division.
One of the standout moments came Saturday in the under-23 finals. Flamengo claimed seven of eight gold medals on offer, plus a silver and bronze. The club swept all four women's events and won three of four men's races, underlining the depth of its talent pipeline.
In the women's field, Jennifer Almeida and Lara Pizarro emerged as the day's leading performers, each earning four gold medals. Both raced in the victorious crews for the coxless four, four skiff, double skiff, and eight with cox. On the men's side, Kayki Siqueira and Miguel Marques were equally decisive, competing in championship boats in the coxless four, four skiff, and eight with cox.
The championship concluded Sunday (18) with the senior finals. Flamengo underscored its standing among Brazil's elite rowers, claiming both men's and women's titles and finishing another edition of the Brazilian Long Boats Championship with emphatic dominance and impressive results across all divisions.
The achievement caps a stellar season for Flamengo rowing. In 2026, the club also won the Brazilian Short Boats Championship and the National Beach Rowing Championship, results that combine with its long boats performance to establish yet another standout campaign for the sport that gave the club its name.
