Sesc RJ Flamengo chase Carioca title in Fluminense classic

Sesc RJ Flamengo take to court on Tuesday (13.10) at 18h30 to compete for the Carioca Championship title against Fluminense. At Hebraica, the home of their rivals, coach Bernardinho's side aim to extend their dominance and secure their 21st state trophy. The final will be broadcast live on SporTV2 and Flamengo TV.

The Red-and-Black made a winning start to the competition with a 3–0 victory over Tijuca Tênis Clube on Tuesday, 06.10. However, on Saturday (10.10), they were beaten by Fluminense 3–1. Having finished the first phase with the best campaign, Tricolor will hold home advantage in the final.

With another classic clash on the horizon, Sesc RJ Flamengo are working to iron out the details and arrive in stronger form at their target. The squad recognises the challenge of playing at the opposition's ground but shows confidence in their ability to bounce back.

"We expect an even tougher match at their place, but we know we are capable of putting in a much better display than Saturday. Our group is going through adjustments, which is normal at the start of a season. But when a title is at stake, the will to win is bigger than everything. It's heart, it's fighting spirit and we're going all out," said setter Giovana.

The most decorated team in the Carioca Championship, Sesc RJ Flamengo have lifted the trophy in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025.
