Rubro-Negro extend unbeaten run with commanding win over Batavo Mackenzie

Sesc RJ Flamengo showed no mercy on Halloween, securing their third successive victory in the Superliga Feminina. On Saturday (31 October), Bernardinho's squad dispatched Batavo Mackenzie 3-0, with set scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-20, at Tijuca Tênis Clube in matchday three, climbing to nine points at the top of the table.

The Rubro-Negro faithful provided decisive support during the close moments when their Minas Gerais opponents mounted resistance. Setter Giovana, awarded the VivaVôlei best-on-court trophy, orchestrated the side's attacking strategy with precision and control. Opposite Tainara led the scoring once again with 17 points, while American outside hitter Simone Lee contributed 16. Middle blockers Juju and Lorena each added ten.

"I'm very happy with this group, who understand what we're trying to achieve and always want more," Giovana said. "We have a strong, unified squad. We just need to execute what we do in training. There's already enormous pressure to perform consistently, so I always tell the girls to smile—that way we attract a different energy and everything falls into place."

Sesc RJ Flamengo return to action next Friday (6 November) when they travel to face Sancor Londrina at 18:30 BRT in Paraná.

The Rubro-Negro opened their Superliga campaign with a straight-sets victory over Paulistano Barueri in front of their supporters, then replicated that result on the road against Brasília Vôlei. The Rio-based outfit have already claimed two silverware this season, lifting the Copa SuperVôlei in September and the Carioca Championship in October.

Brazil's most decorated Superliga side, with 12 titles, Sesc RJ Flamengo topped the podium in the 1997/98 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), followed by victories in 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2010/11, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 (all in Rio de Janeiro).
