First quarter
Flamengo started the derby on the offensive and opened the scoring through Yago, who cut through the opposing defense to register the match's opening two points. Throughout the quarter, Rubro-Negro maintained the lead despite Botafogo's pressure. With efficient offensive execution, the Mengão concluded the opening period ahead 22-14.
Second quarter
Botafogo returned stronger in the second quarter and managed to narrow the gap, making the contest more competitive. With some attacking errors, Flamengo squandered opportunities to extend their advantage. Late in the period, however, two three-pointers—one from Negrete and another from Yago—helped Rubro-Negro reestablish a comfortable margin. Thus the Pride of Rio went into halftime leading 49-36.
Third quarter
Botafogo grew into the game at the start of the third period and closed the deficit. Subsequently, both teams traded baskets, but Flamengo managed to control their advantage. Ruan remained the team's offensive focal point, accumulating 16 points and five rebounds by the end of the quarter. Rubro-Negro won the period and entered the final ten minutes with a 69-57 scoreline.
Fourth quarter
The derby remained contested throughout the final period, with Flamengo maintaining control. Midway through the quarter, Botafogo cut into the deficit again and attempted to pressure Rubro-Negro. At a crucial moment, Djalo capitalized on a fast break and finished with a dunk, adding two more points for the Mengão.
