Samuel Lino has been named the Player of the Month for August in Brazil's top division by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The Flamengo forward delivered an impressive showing across the period, netting three goals in the club's competitive outings.
"I'm very happy. It's the first time I've won this award and I feel very honoured by the recognition. It's always good to see your work being valued, especially in a competition as important as the Brasileirão. I've even put up another shelf in my bedroom to display the trophies I've been winning this year," Lino quipped.

Across 2026, Lino has made 49 appearances for Flamengo, registering 14 goals and 16 assists. Since his debut for the club on 31 July 2025 in a Copa do Brasil fixture against Atlético Mineiro, the forward has featured in 80 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 21 assists.
A Copa do Brasil champion with Flamengo in 2018 and native of Santo André in São Paulo, Lino has also featured for São Bernardo, Gil Vicente, Valencia and Atlético Madrid. During his stint with the Spanish giants, he made 93 appearances, scored 12 goals and recorded 16 assists, and was named the club's Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season.
Having returned to Brazilian football in 2025, Lino posted 31 matches, four goals and five assists during his initial campaign in red and black.
Lino has also represented the Brazilian national team. Called up for the first time in September 2025, he made his senior debut against Bolivia in World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The forward has now been selected for upcoming friendlies against Australia (two matches) and India, scheduled for late September and early October.
