Flamengo claim men's and overall titles at Brazil Junior Judo Trophy

Flamengo finished atop the individual competition at the Brazil Junior Judo Trophy on Saturday in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. The Rub-Negro claimed both the men's and overall titles with three golds and two bronzes.

The final day produced two of those golds: Clarisse Vallim won in the 70kg category, while Ruan Vasconcelos took top honours in the 90kg division. Monique Silva added bronze in the 78kg category on the same day. These results combined with previous medals from Vinicius Oliveira's gold in the 60kg bracket and Manuela Maia's bronze in the 63kg weight class.

Flamengo's men's dominance came courtesy of titles from Vinicius and Ruan. Vasconcelos' triumph carried special significance: last month at the Brazilian Junior Championships, he finished runner-up in the 81kg category. Stepping up to the 90kg division this time around, he reached the top of the podium.

The individual competitions took place at the Adib Moysés Dib Multipurpose Gymnasium. The Brazil Junior Trophy concludes on Sunday with mixed team events.
