CHAMPIONS! Flamengo seals historic day in Brasília and claims sixth straight Brazilian Gymnastics title

Flamengo's gymnasts delivered a stunning performance on Friday (7) to clinch their sixth consecutive Brazilian Gymnastics team championship. Competing at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasília, Flavia Saraiva, Gabi Bouças, Julia Coutinho, Larissa Machado, Lorrane Oliveira, and Rebeca Andrade proved their pre-competition status by capturing the top podium spot with an aggregate score of 160.200 points.

Beyond the team title, the Red-Black also dominated the all-around competition. Flavia Saraiva and Lorrane Oliveira delivered a one-two punch, finishing first and second respectively. Flavia showcased consistent excellence across all four apparatus, posting 53.900 points with a standout performance on the uneven bars. Lorrane—delighted at competing all apparatus following time away—followed closely with 52.750 points. The star gymnast linked a handless Flic into a Double Twist Piked and became the first athlete to land that combination in an official competition.

"I'm so happy with these results and grateful for the crowd's support. It was wonderful seeing the stands filled with young gymnasts, and I want to thank our fans for always believing in us. There are more competitions ahead, but the all-around and team titles are ours," said Flavia.

"It had been many years since I competed all apparatus, so I'm thrilled I performed well and gave my best. To represent this club that I love so much, it has to be this way. I'm leaving satisfied and whole," commented Lorrane.

Rebeca Andrade etches her name in history once again

Acclaimed by the crowd, the Queen competed on just one apparatus and was spectacular. Rebeca posted just a single vault and achieved the highest score in the world for 2026: 14.800 points. The gymnast executed a Yurchenko with double twist with precision and proved crucial to the team title. Having opted not to attempt a second vault, she is not competing in the finals this weekend.

After dazzling once more, the Olympic medalist spent time cheering on her teammates, celebrating every success and taking photos with numerous Flamengo supporters.

"I'm very proud and happy. I delivered a strong vault and that gives me more confidence to keep improving. It was wonderful to return, help the team, and compete for my club with these girls. The support and encouragement we give each other makes our team special. It was all incredibly meaningful," she said.

Flamengo's finals programme continues this weekend

The victorious day has opened numerous possibilities for individual medals for Flamengo. On Saturday (8), Duda Montesino, Flavia Saraiva, Hellen Silva, Julia Coutinho, and Lorrane Oliveira compete on floor. Following that, Larissa Machado and Nicole Bello contest the vault. Finally, Duda, Flavia, Lorrane, and Julia take part in the uneven bars final.

On Sunday (9), six gymnasts (Duda, Flavia, Gabi, Hellen, Lorrane, and Nicole) will conclude the tournament in the balance beam final. One thing is certain: more medals are on their way for Flamengo.
