Oliveira and Saraiva deliver unbeaten bars performance as Bello dominates vault; Flamengo sweeps medals at Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship

Flamengo maintained its dominant run at the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship with a stellar Saturday (August 7) performance, capping a day that saw the club capture its sixth consecutive team title and claim gold and silver in the individual all-around.

Nicole Bello delivered a flawless vault routine to claim the apparatus title. The 15-year-old Rio Grande do Sul native scored 13.300 on her opening attempt, 13.200 on her second, and averaged 13.250 points—a margin that left no doubt about her superiority. As she embraced coach Ângelo Sabino with tears of joy, the presence of her parents in the stands made the moment even more special.

"I'm thrilled with everything today," Bello said, beaming. "We put in endless work to reach the top of the podium, and having my parents here is surreal. Tomorrow is Father's Day, so giving them this gift is incredibly meaningful. Showing the results of our daily training was all I wanted. I'm grateful to my coaches and especially Ângelo, who guides me through every step of this journey."

On bars, Flamengo fielded four competitors. Duda Montesino and Júlia Coutinho opened with crowd-pleasing routines—Júlia notably posting a career-high 12.900—but the show's crowning moments came with the Olympic duo of Flavia Saraiva and Lorrane Oliveira.

Saraiva posted 13.466, while Oliveira, the final competitor, delivered 13.700 to secure back-to-back gold medals for the club's athletes. The red-and-black one-two finish echoed Friday's triumph but with reversed placings and the customary celebration that followed.

 "I increased the difficulty of my dismount and executed a solid routine—I'm satisfied," Oliveira said. "I came through a difficult period with shoulder issues; I didn't compete on bars at the Brazil Trophy, but I'm fully recovered now. My multidisciplinary team and strength coach got me where I needed to be. This gold goes to the Flamengo nation."

With every contested apparatus now claimed, Flamengo looks ahead to Sunday (August 9) with two final events: balance beam featuring Duda, Flavia, Gabi Bouças, Hellen Silva, Lorrane, and Nicole; and floor exercise with Duda, Flavia, Hellen, Júlia, and Lorrane in the lineup.
