Kaylane Vieira Commits to Flamengo with Contract Extension Through 2028

Kaylane Vieira has committed her future to Flamengo, penning a contract extension through 2028. The midfielder-forward, who has emerged as one of Brazil's most promising talents in recent years and now a regular starter for the club's professional side, signed the new terms on Thursday.

Born in 2008, Kaylane joined Flamengo in 2022 and quickly made an impact in youth competitions. She claimed the under-17 Carioca championship before becoming the youngest player in the squad to lift the Copinha in 2023. She added the under-20 Carioca and Brazilian titles in 2024, then proved instrumental in back-to-back Copinha triumphs, scoring the opening goal in last year's final. To date, she has made 15 appearances and scored once for Flamengo's senior team.

"This is one of the best moments of my life. Flamengo is my home, and this renewal is important to continue the work that's been done," Vieira said. "I've never hidden how happy I am here. The club embraced me, gave me the best opportunities, and everything I've experienced in my life carries the red-and-black mark."

Vieira's trajectory extends to international football. She secured the South American under-17 championship, competed in two FIFA World Youth Tournaments—wearing the number 10 and serving as captain in the second—and won the under-20 South American title. Recently, she was called up by coach Arthur Elias for friendlies against the United States and became the youngest player to take the field in those matches.

"Reaching the national team was the realization of a dream, and Flamengo was fundamental to that," she reflected. "Of course, wearing the yellow shirt is special, but I believe all of this comes from daily work. The experience with the senior squad is something that stays with you, and I want to return—but it depends on how things go here. So I'm staying focused."

Vieira's continued presence underscores Flamengo's commitment to developing academy talent and investing in young players' growth, consolidating a squad built on homegrown potential and club identity.

"When the renewal proposal came, I didn't hesitate," Vieira concluded. "My family gave me full support, and we're all satisfied. Flamengo is a club that truly values those who came through the academy—just look at how many academy girls are now in the professional squad. There's no better place to continue my career. I want to win titles and write my name into history."
