The game
Flamengo started the match exchanging passes in the attacking half. The first dangerous shot came from Portuguesa in the ninth minute, when Léo Muchacho received the ball on the left side of the area and shot across goal, but wide. Flamengo responded immediately with a clear goalscoring opportunity. Wallace Yan received the ball in the area, found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but shot wide.
At 22 minutes, another great opportunity was wasted. Daniel Sales crossed into the area and Wallace Yan, unmarked, ended up shooting over the goal. With more possession, the red-and-black team created more chances to open the scoring. However, the first half ended goalless at the Raulino de Oliveira stadium.
At the start of the second half, Portuguesa created two dangerous chances. The Flamengo team returned without changes. In the eighth minute, Douglas Telles came down the right and crossed into the area looking for Joshua, but the striker couldn't reach it. At the moment of the cross, Telles felt a pain in his calf and asked to be substituted. Alan Santos came on in his place.

Behind on the scoreboard, the Flamengo youth team were forced to push forward more, and they almost equalized at 20 minutes. Joshua made a good play down the left and crossed into the box. The Portuguesa defense made a partial clearance, and the ball fell to Alan Santos, who controlled it and shot towards goal. The ball went very close to the post.
In the final stretch, Flamengo continued attacking in search of at least a draw. At 40', after a corner from the left, Wallace Yan deflected the ball at the near post, but it went wide. After much persistence, Mengão equalized at 49'. Wallace Yan crossed into the area, captain Iago rose high and headed the ball stylishly to make it 1-1.
