Flamengo has displayed impressive attacking intent from the opening minutes throughout 2026. In Brazilian Championship and CONMEBOL Libertadores fixtures, the Rio de Janeiro side has scored within the opening 15 minutes on 13 occasions this season. The record is near-perfect: 11 victories and two draws, representing a 90% win rate.

The most recent example came in last weekend's 2–1 victory over Red Bull Bragantino at the Maracanã Stadium on September 20. Varela broke the deadlock in the 12th minute to put Flamengo ahead, and the Rubro-Negro held firm to secure all three points.
