Sesc RJ Flamengo claim Superliga lead with victory over Sancor Londrina

Sesc RJ Flamengo have reclaimed top spot in the 2026/2027 Superliga Feminina after beating Sancor Londrina 3-0 on Friday in Paraná. The Rubro-Negro secured a commanding straight-sets victory with scorelines of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-17 at Ginásio Moringão, extending their unbeaten campaign to four matches and accumulating 12 points from as many games.

Opposite Tainara drove Flamengo's dominant display with tactical precision and offensive firepower. The forward finished as the side's leading scorer with 18 points and earned the VivaVôlei Award as player of the match. Serbian central Minja Osmajic made an impressive debut after recovering from a fractured finger on her right hand, marking three points on her first appearance in Brazilian volleyball.

"The most important thing was securing the victory and knowing we are moving in the right direction. We understand there is much to improve still. We will continue working hard because every round brings greater challenges. We need to execute certain aspects of our game better, but I am pleased with our progress," Tainara said.

Flamengo's next fixture is a classic Carioca clash against Fluminense on Thursday November 12 at 21:00 (BRT) at Maracanãzinho, where they will have home advantage. Prior to Friday's away victory, Bernardinho's squad had overcome Paulistano Barueri, Brasília Vôlei and Batavo Mackenzie in straight sets during the opening round.

The Rubro-Negro stand as the Superliga's most decorated side with 12 titles to their name, claiming silverware in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba) and again in 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (all held in Rio de Janeiro).
